As a wedding destination the region offers an excellent selection of wedding professionals and services. Reception facilities abound and you can expect to be able to choose from Five Star hotels, to luxury yachts, impressive golf courses, private clubs to heritage buildings.

Over 40 bridal boutiques are in business in the Lower Mainland region. From top of the line boutiques such as Vancouver’s Something Blue, the only boutique carrying Vera Wang west of Toronto, to Canada’s only off-the-rack mall location boutique, Bryan’s Bride in Burnaby’s Brentwood Mall and many excellent boutiques in between.

New Westminster, the province’s original capital city, hosts its own “Bridal Row” on Columbia Street with more than a half a dozen bridal boutiques all within walking distance of each other.

As can be expected there is also a flourishing community of bridal gown designers. The quality of workmanship and design innovation that this small but thriving group of designers has to offer is amazing.

Many wedding insiders consider the level of wedding photojournalism in the region to be unsurpassed anywhere else in the country. In fact, Real Weddings magazine, the longest running and most successful regional wedding magazine has made a name for itself by showcasing the talents of this ever-growing young, dynamic community of photographers.
